Yesterday, Alison had the absolute pleasure of attending the Wigan & Leigh Short Film Festival at The Mill — and what a wonderful day it turned out to be!

Some of you may remember our previous posts about creating a brand-new costume for the wonderful Northwest children’s entertainer, Louby Lou. Well, that costume became part of something even more special…

Louby Lou and her dad, Trumble the Clown, teamed up with the incredibly talented guys from Eklectics to create a beautiful short documentary telling the story of their family’s history in clowning — Where Laughter Lives.

We were delighted when the team came to the Clothears workshop to film with us. It was such a pleasure having them here, and we absolutely loved being part of the project.

Then came the exciting news…

🎥 Where Laughter Lives had been shortlisted for Best Documentary at the 2026 Wigan & Leigh Short Film Festival!

And yesterday, we found out…

🏆 IT WON! 🏆

Hooray! 🎉

A massive congratulations to Director Jonathan Clarke & Editor Robin Andrews at Eklectics for producing such a fantastic film — thoroughly deserved!

And of course, a huge congratulations to Louby Lou and Trumble too. Their story is a truly heart-warming celebration of family, tradition and the joy of making people smile. ❤️🤡

We’re so pleased that the little film we were lucky enough to be a tiny part of has received such wonderful recognition.

A huge thank you to Wigan & Leigh Short Film Festival and The Leigh Film Factory for putting on yet another fantastic event, congratulations to everyone involved!

Here’s to keeping the laughter alive!
