A Busy Week on the Workshop Bench
It’s been another productive week in the workshop, with a fantastic mix of projects coming together. On the bench we’ve had Skiff Guard helmets, Field Grey Imperial Officer tunics and jodhpurs, Bounty Hunter Vizam under tunic, and of course – Boba Fett gloves making a return.
Jude has been hard at work on our latest run of Skiff Guard helmets. The vacuum-formed shells and cast resin jaws have now all been carefully painted, and the teeth are currently drying. The leatherwork has been dyed, finished, and meticulously glued into place, really bringing each piece to life. With just the bolo cord left to add, these helmets are nearly ready. Meanwhile, the Skiff Barge bases are prepped and waiting for their final weathering touches.
Over at the sewing bench, Alison has been focused on two Field Grey Imperial Officer costumes. From drafting and cutting through to construction, each tunic and pair of jodhpurs is being carefully crafted. They feature vintage-style hook-and-bar fastenings, along with braces and suspender buttons for authenticity. Alison is currently dyeing the hem-facing fabric before moving on to the finishing details – lacing eyelets, calf lacing, and adjustable elastic foot stirrups.
Joining the workshop this week is Vizam, who’s in for a brand-new headdress and under tunic. If you’d like to dive deeper into Vizam’s story, be sure to check out our latest blog post.
And finally, Boba Fett gloves are back in progress. Each pair has been laundered and carefully dyed to match the correct colour variations seen across different film versions.
We hope you’ve enjoyed this little look back at what we’ve been up to this week. For more behind-the-scenes updates, keep an eye on the blog and our social media pages!
