Last year, during a big studio move, we made the tough decision to part with a handful of our older prototype costumes pieces that had served us well but were ready for a new adventure. One of those was a fantastic Vizam costume, packed with character and detail. The set included a woven cotton short-sleeve tunic, a suede over-tunic, a striking yellow life jacket, a veg-tan dyed leather belt with a brass buckle, padded cotton trousers with Lycra stirrups, and felted gaiters. Everything needed to bring the look to life.
The costume found its way to a wonderful new owner who has since taken things even further, tracking down the Vizam mask and hands from the incredibly talented Chris Stephens Creations. And now, here’s the exciting part, he’s come back to us to complete the ensemble with a brand-new under tunic and headdress!
We’re absolutely thrilled to be diving back into this project and helping bring the full vision together. There’s something really special about seeing one of our pieces evolve and find new life like this. We only wish we had the entire costume here in the studio to photograph once it’s complete – but we have a feeling the new owner will be sharing plenty of amazing shots once he’s out there trooping!
Be sure to follow along as we document the process and craftsmanship behind these final pieces – we can’t wait to show you what’s coming next.
