The Wildling
Inspired by the fierce Wildling warrior from Game of Thrones, this epic build pushed our skills to the next level. While we’re no strangers to leather and suede, this costume challenged us to explore new materials, intense weathering techniques, and an all-new level of rugged authenticity.
The Undergarment Coat
Crafted from around 8 genuine shearling hides, this ¾ length coat features long sleeves and a fully reversible design, fur-side out with leather cuffs or leather-side out with fur accents, just like in the series. Every inch has been hand-painted, trimmed, sheared, and weathered, down to the reinforced seams, collar, and carefully “repaired” sleeve tears to add true character.
The Overcoat
Made from 2 white Mongolian sheepskins, this outer layer brings serious presence. The front is worn leather-side out, while the back and shoulders reveal wild fur, a dramatic contrast that mirrors Tormund’s unrelenting nature.
The Cowl
Constructed from dark brown Mongolian sheepskin and rabbit fur, this cowl was pieced together from smaller hides, meticulously shaped and stitched, then heavily distressed to blend seamlessly with the rest of the look.
Accessories & Armor
The veg-tan leather belt was dyed, weathered, and finished with solid brass hardware. Suede trousers and custom boots (modified moon boots) complete the look, wrapped in weathered suede and sheepskin cuffs for that authentic Northern grit.
Boot Covers
Topped with sheepskin cuffs and layered suede wraps, the boot covers are hand-painted, distressed, and ready for the tundra.
We had a blast creating this beast of a costume, it’s heavy, warm, and turns heads wherever it goes. The storytelling through weathering is one of our favourite parts of the process, every scuff, stain, and stitch brings it to life.
Winter is coming… and we’re ready.
